Sundre Community Garden

The Sundre Community Garden is located on the Sundre Hospital grounds and offers 28 equal-sized plots for local residents seeking a place to grow their own garden.

This shared, park-like space invites plot holders to relax and enjoy the surroundings, learn from fellow gardeners, and connect with local seniors. Greenwood Neighbourhood Place oversees the garden’s operations and manages day-to-day activities.

Detailed information regarding participation can be found in our Responsibilities and Guidelines.

History
In April 2014, Greenwood Neighbourhood Place received funding for the Sundre Community Garden project through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program ($25,000) and Alberta Health Services’ Thrive for Wellness Program ($3,000). The project was guided by a committee made up of Sundre residents, Town of Sundre representatives, Alberta Health Services officials, a nutritionist, a representative from the Sundre Garden Club, and a project coordinator from Greenwood Neighbourhood Place.
